Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.27% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 998,042 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,843 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,959 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 997,863 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.28% increase compared to Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.8% while hydro plants comprised 17.3%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,343 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,068 megawatt-hours.
