Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.19% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 977,794 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,300 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,082 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 978,603 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.24% increase compared to Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35.32% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.75% while lignite power plants comprised 13.4%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,982 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,850 megawatt-hours.
