Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4.23% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 838,642 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,368 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,715 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 839,906 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.43% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.8% of total electricity consumption, wind plants contributed 15.5% while lignite plants comprised 15.3%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,033 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,004 megawatt-hours.
