Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.45% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 944,164 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,061 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,114 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 946,219 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 3.24% decrease compared to Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.5% while lignite power plants comprised 14.7%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,055 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,123 megawatt-hours.
