Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 923,304 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,096 megawatt-hours at 18.00 local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,163 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 939,827 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.9% decrease compared to Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.3% while lignite plants comprised 13.7%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,795 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,736 megawatt-hours.
