Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.8% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 990,010 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,139 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,261 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 988,280 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 0.96% decrease compared to Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.3% while hydro plants comprised 14.2%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,715 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,755 megawatt-hours.
