Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 946,775 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,731 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,536 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 947,970 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.23% decrease compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.8% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.3% while lignite plants comprised 13.3%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,983 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,745 megawatt-hours.
