Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 11.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 796,832 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,381 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,328 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 799,222 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.8% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 24.2% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 15.6% and 14%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,786 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 9,646 megawatt-hours.
