Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 10.7% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 891,087 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,573 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,396 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 894,332 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.7% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 20.8% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 18.1% and 17.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,428 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,236 megawatt-hours.
