Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.18% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 974,782 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,852 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,534 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 973,890 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 14.8% increase compared to Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 18.6% while hydro plants comprised 14.3%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,699 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,250 megawatt-hours.
