Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.05% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 942,832 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,452 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,469 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 943,611 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.02% increase compared to Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.6% while lignite plants comprised 13.8%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,198 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 7,667 megawatt-hours.
