Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,133,060 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,670 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,327 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,148,308 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of about 2% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 33.4% of total generation, while imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectric plants contributed 20.2% and 10.9%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 16,671 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,429 megawatt-hours.
