Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 1.3% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 903,249 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,502 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,913 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 905,692 megawatt-hours on Friday, increasing around 1.2% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 27.2% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 25.7% and 12%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,476 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,047 megawatt-hours.
