Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 886,293 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,308 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,275 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 892,670 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 10.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 24.8% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 17.8% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,555 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,003 megawatt-hours.
