Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 855,949 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,312 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,748 megawatt-hours at 9 a.m. local time (0600 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 863,426 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 8.7% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from hydropower plants accounted for around 25% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind contributed 18.6% and 15%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,796 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,148 megawatt-hours.
