Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.7% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,016,637 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,400 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,022 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,020,628 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 1.7% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 26.8% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 20.3% and 15.5%, respectively.
On Tuesday, he country's electricity exports totaled 8,764 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,805 megawatt-hours.
