Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 3.3% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,023,836 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,603 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,499 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,025,016 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 2.9% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from hydroelectric plants accounted for around 26.5% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 21.6% and 11%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,057 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,844 megawatt-hours.
