Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 5.9% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,006,654 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,069 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,472 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,018,571 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of about 5.8% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 34.5% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.7% and 10.8%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,337 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,463 megawatt-hours.
