Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 11.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 731,992 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 34,541 megawatt-hours at 08.00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,074 megawatt-hours at 08.00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 720,209 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 12% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 26.5% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 19.6% and 17%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 11,894 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 23,677 megawatt-hours.
