Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 11.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 769,561 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,660 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,886 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 766,487 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 11.5% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 24.9% of total generation, while natural gas and solar plants contributed 16.3% and 14.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,138 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 11,211 megawatt-hours.
