Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 9.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 856,141 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,243 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,199 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 867,525 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.6% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 24.8% of total generation, while imported natural gas and lignite plants contributed 22.1% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,431 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 50 megawatt-hours.
