Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 16.41% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 934,564 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,760 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,971 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 933,873 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 16.51% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 25% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.8% while hydroelectricity plants comprised 15.9%.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 12,546 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,238 megawatt-hours.
