Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 12.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 807,211 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,788 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,171 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 815,537 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 12.5% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from wind plants accounted for around 21.3% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and imported coal contributed 19.5% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,467 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,174 megawatt-hours.
