Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,022,855 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,755 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,344 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,030,265 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of 0.9% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 23.4% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and natural gas plants contributed 20% and 18.4%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,480 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,952 megawatt-hours.
