Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 15.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 928,025 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,926 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,825 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 933,873 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 14.9% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas accounted for around 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal and hydro power plants contributed 25.7% and 13.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,258 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 884 megawatt-hours.
