Daily electricity consumption increased by 16.2% to 880,099 megawatt-hours on Monday in Turkey, according to official figures on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17:00 local time with 42,178 megawatt-hours, Turkish Electrical Transmission Company (TEIAS) data showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,651 megawatt-hours at 07:00.
Total electricity production reached 880,707 megawatt-hours on Monday, with a 15.7% rise compared to the previous day.
The majority of output came from imported coal plants totaling 206,641 megawatt-hours.
Dam hydropower plants and natural gas power plants followed with 199,690 megawatt-hours and 181,883 megawatt-hours, respectively.
Also on Monday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 3,366 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 2,758 megawatt-hours.
