Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 867,186 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,156 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,585 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 867,524 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 3.9% decrease compared to Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 22.3% while lignite plants comprised 16%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,857 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,641 megawatt-hours.
