Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 4.4% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 958,440 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,523 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,097 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 951 bin 036 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 4.6% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 22.4% of total generation, while wind plants and natural gas plants contributed 22% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 5,995 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 13,432 megawatt-hours.
