Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,028,216 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,110 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,513 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,039,154 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 1.4% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 23.8% of total generation, while natural gas and imported coal plants contributed 23.7% and 21.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,154 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,178 megawatt-hours.
