Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 3.8% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,069,483 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,562 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,707 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,081,425 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of about 3.8% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 33.9% of total generation, while imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectric plants contributed 22.5% and 10.2%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,461 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,549 megawatt-hours.
