Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 899,591 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,146 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,057 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 916,725 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.3% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 23.4% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 21.9% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 17,256 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 142 megawatt-hours.
