Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 17% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,089,264 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,181 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,031 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,103,947 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 17% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 24.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind contributed 20% and 18.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 16,192 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,508 megawatt-hours.
