Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 894,110 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,187 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,353 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 905,491 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 24% of total generation, while wind plants and natural gas plants contributed 21.7% and 17.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,872 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,491 megawatt-hours.
