Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.72% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 917,646 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,700 megawatt-hours at 21.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,708 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 922,225 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.76% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 43.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 17.9% while lignite plants comprised 13.4%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,214 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,688 megawatt-hours.
