Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 4.04% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 892,086 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 42,911 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,946 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 898,539 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 3.24% increase from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 19.26% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 15.13%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 14.06% share.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,267 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 162 megawatt-hours.
