Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.8% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,004,915 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,366 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,581 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,013,359 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14.2% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 27.4% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 23.9% and 12.6%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,690 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,248 megawatt-hours.
