Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 16% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 976,933 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,436 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,824 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 985,119 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 15.5% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 25.7% of total generation, while imported coal and wind contributed 22.8% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,444 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,328 megawatt-hours.
