China-based Dongfang Electric Corp. is planning to invest about $250 million in a wind turbine factory in Türkiye, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on Tuesday.
Bayraktar discussed the plan with senior executives from Dongfang, one of China's leading wind power technology companies, at the ministry in the Turkish capital Ankara, the minister said on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
As part of that plan, Dongfang is considering building a wind turbine manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 2,000 megawatts, Bayraktar added.
Türkiye aims to reach 120,000 megawatts of installed wind and solar capacity by 2035, while also boosting domestic potential for turbine and panel manufacturing.
