Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.7% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 960,025 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,040 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,633 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 969,347 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of 5.4% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 29.5% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.6% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,664 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 342 megawatt-hours.
