Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 15% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 952,580 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,438 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,627 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 960,305 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14.5% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas accounted for around 31.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 24.9% and 12%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,500 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 792 megawatt-hours.
