Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 0.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,012,685 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,534 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,464 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,019,744 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of 0.5% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 32.5% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.4% and 11.7%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,261 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,265 megawatt-hours.
