Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 0.4% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 918,304 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,846 megawatt-hours at 19:00 local time (1600) GMT, data from TEİAŞ showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,040 megawatt-hours at 05:00 local time (0200) GMT.
Electricity production amounted to 920,779 megawatt-hours on Friday, decreased about 0.6% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 27.1% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite contributed 26.2% and 11.5%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,839 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,393 megawatt-hours.
