Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 9.7% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 827,967 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,718 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,684 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 838,506 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.4% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 28% of total generation, while natural gas plants and lignite plants contributed 24.5% and 13.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,996 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 457 megawatt-hours.
