Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 2.3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,033,678 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,074 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,935 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,042,363 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.3% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 28.3% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite contributed 23% and 11%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,505 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 834 megawatt-hours.
