Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,140,482 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,998 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,654 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,148,517 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of about 1.6% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 29.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 20.9% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,370 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,335 megawatt-hours.
