Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 16.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 987,388 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,374 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,620 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 984,393 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 15.7% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 23.3% of total generation, while solar and natural gas plants contributed 14.8% and 14.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,845 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 16,929 megawatt-hours.
