Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 15% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 916,494 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,108 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,586 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 913,688 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 14.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 27% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 25.2% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,827 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 10,636 megawatt-hours.
