Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, reaching 1,018,278 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,164 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT) on Tuesday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 33,537 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 1,029,601 million megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.03% increase from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 38.5% of total electricity consumption, hydropower plants held a 16.6% share while imported coal plants comprised 14.2%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 16,579 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,423 megawatt-hours.
