Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.72% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 911,778 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 44,113 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,940 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 912,007 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.39% increase from Wednesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.94% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectric power plants held a 18.98% share while imported coal plants comprised 17.33%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,312 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,147 megawatt-hours.
