Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 9.99% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 842,581 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,949 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,305 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 840,594 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.05% decrease compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 23% while lignite plants comprised 15.4%.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,256 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,388 megawatt-hours.
